FAQs
Do you just do video podcasts?
Video podcasts are our core specialism, but we work across a broader range of formats. Alongside video podcast production, we regularly record branded interview series, thought-leadership content for businesses, social media clips, and audio-only productions including interviews, voiceovers, and audiobooks. Our clients range from podcast production agencies and media brands to independent creators and in-house content teams. If you have a format in mind and are not sure whether it fits, just get in touch and we can talk it through.
What is the minimum booking at BISON?
Our standard bookings are a half-day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours), which suits most professional video podcast and interview productions. For straightforward two-person conversations or quick-turnaround interviews, we can accommodate shorter sessions. The minimum for video is 1.5 hours, which allows a comfortable 45 to 60 minute record with time for setup, guest arrivals, and packdown. If you are unsure which format fits your project, get in touch and we will advise.
What does a normal full-day recording session look like?
A full day at BISON runs up to 8 hours and is typically used for back-to-back episode recording, productions with multiple guests across the day, or more complex shoots that need additional setup and turnaround time. The day starts with our engineer setting up and sound-checking ahead of your first guest arriving. From there, you record in sessions as needed, with the control room available throughout for producers or clients to oversee the production. We handle all technical elements, so hosts and guests can stay focused on the conversation. Most full-day clients leave with enough recorded material for three or four episodes, ready to go into post-production. A half-day (4 hours) follows the same format and works well for one or two episodes with a straightforward setup.
Can you accommodate guests or interview subjects who are joining remotely?
Yes. The studio is fully equipped for high-quality remote dial-ins, streaming broadcast-quality audio and video direct to platforms such as Riverside.fm. This means in-studio hosts and remote guests are captured at the same quality level, making the final edit seamless. Remote dial-in capability is included as standard and does not require any additional setup from the client.
What video and audio equipment does the studio use?
The studio is built around a professional broadcast-grade setup designed for video podcasts and interview productions. We use Blackmagic Studio 4K Pro cameras, an Electro-Voice RE20 microphone for each presenter position, Universal Audio preamps, a Blackmagic ATEM vision mixer, and a Blackmagic HyperDeck for live streaming. Lighting is a Bluetooth-controlled Aputure RGB rig, giving us full flexibility over colour temperature and mood. Every session is run by an experienced engineer who manages all technical elements so that hosts and guests can focus entirely on the conversation.
Do you offer white-label studio services for production agencies?
Yes. We work regularly with podcast production agencies as a trusted white-label facility, providing the studio, crew, and production workflow while the agency maintains their client relationship. We have supported agency productions for video podcasts, branded interview series, and social media content across a range of sectors. Our experience working within agency workflows means we understand the importance of reliability, consistency, and editorial quality, particularly for clients producing multiple shows or running on tight post-production timelines. If you are looking for a dependable London studio partner, we would be happy to discuss how we can work together.
Do you offer post-production services as well as studio recording?
Yes. Beyond studio recording, we offer a range of pre- and post-production services through our trusted team of producers and editors. This includes episode editing, audio mixing and mastering, colour grading, and delivery-ready exports for YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other platforms. We can also support series planning, episode structure, and guest briefing in the pre-production phase. Post-production is quoted per project. Get in touch with details of your show and we will put together a tailored proposal.
